Power: Nexus 5 is powered with 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core SoC function within. On the other hand Moto X being an older model is powered with 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core SoC. Storage: Moto X comes in 16GB internal memory whereas Nexus 5 is available in two variants of 16GB and 32GB of internal storage. There is no provision to expand memory externally for any of them.
Software: Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS runs on both the devices. The difference is that Nexus 5 with zilch bloatware offers pure Android experience but Moto X offers a little less than pure Android experience due to some minor changes.
Camera: Nexus 5 has 8MP primary camera and 1.3MP secondary camera whereas Moto X has 10MP rear camera and 2MP front camera giving the latter a nice edge over the former.
Google Nexus 5 is priced higher than Moto X. While Google Nexus 5 is better specification wise, Moto X gives a better user experience. Based on these comparisons, you can easily choose the best option for you.
