A New TikTok-Like ‘Spotlight’ Short Video Feed Option By Snapchat

Snapchat has recently launched a new function ‘Spotlight’, which includes a customized feed of short-form video clips. Spotlight is essentially a replica of TikTok within Snapchat, with Snap looking to utilize its display of short video Snaps to provide users the TikTok experience. It aims to gain traction via a tailored feed of short-form videos.

The Spotlight feed supports public and private Snap accounts. It will feature a range of short video clips, both from public and private Snap accounts, and will let users submit their videos direct to the Spotlight feed for consideration.

“We built Spotlight to be a place where anyone’s content can take center stage – without needing a public account, or an influencer following. It’s a fair and fun place for Snapchatters to share their best Snaps and see perspectives from across the Snapchat community,” said Snapchat on its official blog post.
